Your first session, step by step
Reaching out is often the hardest part. Here’s exactly what happens next, so there are no surprises.

1
A free 15-minute call
You book a time online or ring me. I’ll call you. You can tell me as much or as little as you like about what’s going on, and ask me anything: how I work, what it costs, whether I’ve helped people with something similar. There’s no obligation to book anything afterwards.
If it isn’t safe for someone at home to know you’re speaking to a therapist, just tell me and I’ll only contact you in the way you choose.

2
Your first full session
This is mostly about getting to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s brought you here, what you’d like to be different, and anything that would help sessions feel safer, such as where you sit, whether you’d like the door open, or breaks.
You don’t have to tell me everything, or anything you’re not ready to. We go at your pace.

A plan that fits
By the end of the first session or two, I’ll suggest an approach. That might be EMDR, talking therapy, hypnotherapy or a blend, and how often we might meet. You decide whether it feels right.
With trauma, we always build stability and coping skills first, before working directly with difficult memories.

Reviewing together
Every few weeks we’ll check in on what’s helping and what isn’t. You can change direction, slow down, take a break or stop at any time. You’re always in charge of your therapy.
