Peace of Mind Talking Therapy

Somewhere steady to put down what you’ve been carrying.

Trauma-focused psychotherapy, EMDR and hypnotherapy in Prestwich, Whitefield and online. We go at your pace, and you stay in charge of what we talk about.

Accepting new clients. Next free call Saturday 7 November at 10:00am

MBACP registered, with over 10 years’ experience across the NHS, private and voluntary sectors.

Follow the light with your eyes for a few passes. This side-to-side rhythm is the bilateral stimulation used in EMDR.

What’s been weighing on you?

Tap anything that sounds familiar. It’s only to help you see where we might begin. Nothing is saved or sent.

Three ways of working, often blended

I don’t follow a single model. After our first conversation I’ll suggest a plan built from whichever of these suits you, and we’ll review it together as we go.

EMDR therapy

For memories that still feel like they’re happening now.

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing helps the brain finish processing distressing experiences, so they lose their charge. It’s recommended by NICE for PTSD and is often effective where talking alone hasn’t been.

Often helps with PTSD and complex PTSD, single traumatic events and phobias and panic.

Transactional Analysis psychotherapy

Understanding the patterns you keep finding yourself in.

A talking therapy that looks at how early experiences shaped the way you relate to yourself and others, and helps you choose differently. Short-term or open-ended.

Often helps with relationship difficulties, low self-esteem and attachment and family patterns.

Hypnotherapy

Calming the body’s alarm system.

A deeply relaxed, focused state used to ease anxiety, improve sleep and change habits. You’re aware and in control the whole time. Nothing like stage hypnosis.

Often helps with anxiety and stress, insomnia and habits and compulsions.

Trauma-informed training for organisations

Consultation and training for schools, charities, care providers and blue-light services, drawing on work across the NHS, private and voluntary sectors.

Training for your team
  1. A free 15-minute call

Book online or ring me. Tell me as much or as little as you like. There’s no obligation to go further.

  2. Your first session

We talk about what’s brought you here, what you’d like to be different, and anything that would make sessions feel safer.

  3. A plan that fits you

I’ll suggest an approach, or a blend, and how often we might meet. You decide whether it feels right.

  4. Reviewing together

Every few weeks we check what’s helping and adjust. You can pause or stop whenever you need to.

“I specialise in trauma and complex PTSD, informed by professional training and my own lived experience. My job is to make the room feel safe enough for you to do the work.”

I’ve worked across the NHS, private and voluntary sectors with people of all ages, including veterans, adults who grew up in care, and survivors of domestic abuse and coercive control. I also work with neurodivergent clients and people whose first language isn’t English.

Questions people often ask

Something else on your mind? Send me a message.

How do I know which therapy is right for me?

You don’t need to know. Book the free call and tell me what’s going on. I’ll suggest an approach, and we’ll review it together as we go. Many people end up with a blend.

Is it confidential?

Yes. What you say stays between us, within the BACP ethical framework. The only exception is if I believe you or someone else is at serious risk, and I’d always try to talk with you first.

Do I need a GP referral?

No. You can book directly. If you’re using private health insurance, check with your provider first.

Can I have sessions online?

Yes. EMDR, psychotherapy and hypnotherapy all work well over a secure video call. You just need somewhere private where you won’t be interrupted.

What if I need to cancel?

Use the link in your confirmation email to cancel or move a session. Please give at least 24 hours’ notice; later cancellations may be charged in full.

I’m neurodivergent, or English isn’t my first language. Can you still help?

Yes. I regularly adapt how sessions run, including pace, structure, written summaries and visual aids. Tell me what helps and we’ll build around it.
